Problem Setting up Email Account

hi
im out of my league here but i'll try

i have a multi hosting account with a .au reseller
for some reason, i cannot setup the main domains email accounts at all
its accessible in cpanel, & i can setup any addon domain emails, but the main domain emails elude me & the hosting mob i think
they say its fine, but on 2 seperate computers running win 10 & outlook & thunderbird
no go, any other domain, no problem
not sure if it started when i changed the cpanel password? as when i did, all domain webmail accounts asked for "old password" get new password, yea right, after years.
i solved that by only using the new reset password for cpanel

Can you explain what's happening when you attempt to set up the accounts? What is the specific error you're receiving?

hi, well im testing with thunderbird as it auto configures imap with just email & password (see attached)
this is the main domain, any addon domains i have setup in seconds
i even tried it on another pc, same thing, the hosting service is looking into it also

@cPanelLauren seems its not hostings side, they can make it work
i cant, anything in win 10 that could stop it working?

yet, i can use any addon domain without a problem

Hi @philquad

I do see some issues with that such as the username should be the full email address. It might be easiest to use the Automatic Config script which is available by going to cPanel>>Email>>Email Account -> Manage -> Connect devices

@cPanelLauren oh thats just 1 of the tests, ive tried every combination
actually my other domains connect to thunderbird without full username but it changes in advanced settings
hosting mob says works at their end, & a forum friend said it works too
my isp wont help as its not a telstra email
going to factory reset modem, i formatted yesterday, waste of time
cant connect to ftp either.
