I have just bought a hosting package that comes with CPanel and am having trouble setting up the email.

First I should say being a webmaster isn't my area of expertise - in the past I have only had a website on tripod and maintained a website for an organisation I used to volunteer for. In both cases I didn't have to set up email. I am starting to think I'm out of my depth. I will try to provide all necessary information but I do apologise if I don't use correct terminology - I'm doing my best.

There is a default email account and a new one I have now set up. The address I've set up and the default address can receive mail but cannot send it. I looked at the CPanel tutorial provided by my host and have done everything as instructed. When using Horde webmail (as provided on CPanel) I get this error message when trying to send email:

There was an error sending your message: Failed to connect to localhost:25 [SMTP: Failed to connect socket: Connection timed out (code: -1, response: )]

What does that mean and what am I doing wrong?

    Thanks for all help!

Your host can provide support on this. He's the one you're to contact when you have problems or questions about your account.
