Let me go thru the steps.

    linux fedora core 4

    1. I use command line script: /scripts/adddns domain.name 64.25.25.24
This creates the dns entry and reloads ndc...no problems so far.

    2. Then if I add a domain name using whm, or create a www account using whm. Named will fail when I try to restart it. It will not find the domain from step 1.
    domain.com.db file not found.

    3. I can find domain.com using WHM when I go "edit a domain". I can see it, and if I open that domain using edit domain, even if I do not configure anything, but click save, named will them work. I will get an error after I hit save, but I think that is because WHM cannot find the file.

    4. Now, I can restart bind and it starts properly.

what do I need to do when I use the script adddns to solve this error. I just read another post about serial numbers and named...is that the problem?

    think I figured it out...

the adddns script is writing to /var/named

but it has needs to write to /var/named/chroot/var/named

That is why it was not fining the file
