    Hi

I hope you can help me please.

I have a client who has kept their email (MX record) with Pipex and we have moved their 'A' record to point to our server where their website is now hosted.

The problem is that if I run a PHP contact form and set it to send the email to client@clientdomain.co.uk, it doesn't get delivered to their Pipex email account. It doesn't get delivered anywhere.

I assume it is looking on our local server for the email client@clientdomain.co.uk but it is not there.

Question how do I make it NOT look on our server for the email but go to Pipex to deliver the emails instead.

Hope this makes sense. Sorry if this is a bit of a newbie question.

you should move the domain from /etc/localdomains to /etc/remotedomains.

In addition if they are NOT using your nameservers then you should remove the zone.

Thank you Protocol for such a swift answer.

I'm afraid I'm a bit of a newbie and don't know how I would do what you kindly suggested.

Where would I go to move the domain and also remove the zone.

Sorry but I'm still learning and a little wet behind the ears.

You can login via SSH and modify
    /etc/localdomains - remove domain
    /etc/remotedomains - add domain

Another option would be to find the change MX record in WHM and change it to some external mail server e.g. mail.pipex.com. This will force the above localdomains remotedomains switch automatically.

Then go to remove DNS zone in WHM and remove the DNS zone for the domain in question. assuming that domain is not using your Nameservers.

    Thanks Protocol

    I'll give that a go.

    Hi

Having followed Protocols sound advice the email now gets through.

Unfortunately removing the DNS Zone has also removed the account from the WHM, so I can no longer administrate it. How can I have the account back WITHOUT the DNS Zone info?
