One of the websites we host has a web program they have an admin interface for to update business listings, etc. It was created with perl, it executes from the cgi-bin directory but theres another directory called "data" that stores what data is displayed in the listings - it has to be executable in order to work. Recently, not exactly sure when, the directory's permissions get changed to non executable every week at some point. I can chmod the directory and it will work again until the next week whenever an update or whatever is causing it runs.

    Any ideas?

If it happens on exact same day of the week (and probably same time), you may want to check the crontab for clues.
