When I run /scripts/upcp there is an error:

    Code:
Using RPM Backend: RPM version 4.2.1
Fetching rpm updates list...Error 404 while fetching url http://updates.cpanel.net//pub/rpminstall/redhat-3/updates.686.v2.db.gz
What can I do with it?

This happens when RHEL is not installed properly. You can correct the issue by running /scripts/updatenow then /scripts/sysup. The new sysup will detect what's broken and repair it.

    Thank you.

on RHE i tried running up2date on something which wouldn't update, and was told by my techs that cpanel updates somehow break up2date on RHE machines, but everything is working good now.

    Go on, have a guess
how odd - I'm having no problems at all running up2date on RHE 3.0 with cPanel
