    Hi,
I have installed mailscanner and all was working fine until 4 days ago.
Its very strange, all e-mails are scanned and proccessed correctly, but all are given a score of 0 by spamassassain. This started 4 days ago and I haven't done anything with my settings or server. The e-mails that get linked with a blacklist, get a very high score and are classed as high spam scores, but the normal mails all get a score of 0.

Anyone got an idea what could be going on?

    thanks

Which MailScanner installer did you use? Did you use mine?

    If mine, try the following:

    spamassassin --lint -c /usr/mailscanner/etc/spam.assassin.prefs.conf

Let me know if you get any errors.

If you didn't use my installer, try the same command but put in the location for the -c qualifier of your equivalent file.

This is what I got when I ran your line:

Failed to parse line in SpamAssassin configuration, skipping: envelope_sender_header X-MailScanner-From
Failed to parse line in SpamAssassin configuration, skipping: lock_method flock

Can you post the contents of that file (rename it to a .txt file then upload it to the thread) and I'd be happy to check it for you.

Thank you so much, this problem is so frustrating. The weird part is that this happened for no reason. Without touching the server spamassassain starting giving score=0 to all mails...

    Thanks!

Well, your file is a mess. Looks like you've been editing it on a Mac and uploaded it in binary mode back to the server which has left the Mac linefeeds in place which are completely wrong for Linux.

I've uploaded a clean file for you which you can install by logging into root on your server and:

    Code:
    cd /usr/mailscanner/etc/
    rm -f spam.assassin.prefs.conf
    wget http://www.configserver.com/free/spam.assassin.prefs.conf
    service MailScanner restart

Then try the spamassassin lint test above again. In future, when you edit text files on your server you should really use a server based editor such as pico or vi.

Sorry about that. I cut and pasted the file via my mac... I have never edited it via a mac only directly via the terminal window. So, it should be ok!
    I will try your file!

    Thanks

Hard to say remotely, really. I did PM you if you're interested in hands-on help.
