When you changed the password for that account did it actually give you confirmation that it synced the ftp password? If it did then have you tried deleting the user and recreating them?

Also as a last resort some people have switched the ftp server software to proftp, then back to pureftp and it fixed the issue.

    Wassup,

Shortly, 530 means user is not correct and you must connect with user@domain.com and pass, if the ftp account is a virtual one. Second, you must be sure that it is the correct pass. Change it again. Remember that virtual accounts doesn't have real user, but the owner of the cpanel account, which has itself a ftp account with user and pass without domain! So, try to connect also with the cpanel account on ftp. I'm not sure that what I tell you is the solution, but believe me ftp server is a simple, very easy to configure server :) It is very hard to think that ftp password file is broken.

    Respekt.

I'm having a similar problem as the original poster:
I can log in with the system account created by cPanel, but none of the FTP accounts I'm setting up are working. I'm using ftpuser@domain.com with a very simple password.

    Code:
    root# ftp 1.2.3.4
    Connected to 1.2.3.4.
    220 Hello.
    Name (1.2.3.4:me): ftpuser@domain.com
    331 Please specify the password.
    Password:
    530 Login incorrect.
    ftp: Login failed.

I know recently there has been a confirmed bug regarding FTP:

    http://bugzilla.cpanel.net/show_bug.cgi?id=6053

The developers are working on resolving that issue. If anyone here believes they are experiencing a completely separate issue, please submit a support ticket so our support staff can diagnose the issue and take corrective action.

Just remember EDGE is not recommended for production servers.

If cPanel causes support emails, IM's, and phone calls on all levels except bleeding edge, then bleeding edge is well worth the risk.

just glad they got it taken care of :)
