Attempting to install cPanel on a CentOS 5.1 x64 VM via VMWare.

I continue to have problems with the Perl install -- which I have confirmed by just performing the Perl install alone (by itself).

I see make had returned bad status messages over and over.

I also continue to see Attempt to free unreferenced scalar: SV

The following is a view at the end of the install process before it finally fails.

    Any suggestions?

I have the same issue, the strange thing is that I've several working servers with CentOS 5 but last week I've tried to open a new server, then I've installed cpanel and I've realized about this. I've let the guys from EV1 to set up my server so I'm not really sure about the hardware or equipment, but I know it's a dual core server.

I asked them to especifically install CentOS 5 server and they did, so i guest this must be a cause of some strange cpanel update.. anyone has a fix for this? I can't even use easyapache to compile apache/php on the server

This is my uname output, could this be something with the kernel version?

    Hi,

    Experienced the same problem.

    - First remove perl completely "yum remove perl"
    open /etc/yum.conf
go to the line starting with " exclude ="
and remove perl ( temporarily ) from this line.
    Reinstall perl "yum install perl.x86_64"
Go Into WHM and run cpanel update.

    Best Regards,

    Errors still

    hi,

I followed the suggestion to remove and install PERL, but I am still getting make errors, it seems to be revolving around some EXTRALIBDIR=/usr/lib64 path.

I do not have anything called 'lib64' under that path..

anyone know what this means, and how to fix it?

I was thinking of removing make and reinstalling...

    thanks
