Processes hanging with high CPU Usage

Hello

I know this questions has been asked before but I can't seem to find a solid answer to the course to be able to solve my problems.

If you look at the picture attached, I have around 50% of my accounts on the server under the process manager as
/opt/cpanel/ea-php73/root/usr/bin/php-cgi

These just hang around for ages and currently running at server with
  • Load Averages: 20.44 18.61 16.41
causing 100% CPU usage.

I understand CPU usage can be from visitors to the website but there are not enough visitors to the server for the websites to cause such high load averages.

These processes seem to get stuck and can hang around for hours causing high loads and the only way I can get rid of them is suspend the account for a short while and reactivate it or restart the server.

Please could someone explain in simple terms what these are and why I seem to get 10-30 accounts running this process at one time and is there a way to configure the server to prevent this happening?

Many thanks.

Hey there! Unfortunately just that data isn't going to tell us much. That specific output just tells us the user is using PHP, so I'd recommend checking the logs specific to one of the domains to see if there is a specific page being loaded repeatedly, or another indicator of a page issue. The Apache error logs at /etc/apache2/logs/error_log would also be a good source of information if the PHP page is timing out or giving errors.
