I've seen two servers thus far that since the 11.32 update, ProFTP won't start. Gives errors like this:

    Starting proftpd: gryphon.xxxxx.com proftpd[5031]: warning: "ftp.xxxxx.com" address/port (xx.xx.xx.xx:21) already in use by "ftp.gryphon.xxxxxx.com.zz"
    gryphon.smartflexsolutions.com proftpd[5031]: warning: "ftp.xxxxxx.com" address/port (xx.xx.xx.xx:21) already in use by "ftp.xxxxxx.com"
    gryphon.xxxxxxx.com proftpd[5031] xx.xx.xx.xx: ProFTPD terminating (signal 11)
    gryphon.xxxxxxx.com proftpd[5031] xx.xx.xx.xx: FTP session closed.
    /bin/bash: line 1: 5031 Segmentation fault proftpd -p 0
    [FAILED]

Switching to pureftp works fine, however, since pureftp doesn't work with wordpress integrations, many clients prefer proftp.

    Any thoughts?

That is odd. I suggest submitting a ticket for a cPanel tech to take a look at if this happened with the new upgrades. This way they can see what exactly caused this and can prevent it from happening in the next update.

As a fix, I have found thus far if you swotch to pureftp and then back to proftp, it will start without issue.

I also tried /scripts/ftpup --force and that did not work.

This switching back and forth worked on one server and did not work on another.

It seems to be related to a config file problem. For some reason the script to rebuild proftpdconf doesn't work...well it says it does but its not doing anything. The server must have been updated, previously it would ignore a previous vhost entry like this and carry on like the apache server does.

Signal 11 is a segfault. Opening a ticket would be the best course of action here.

I tried a few methods to replicate the behavior, however I was not successful.

/scripts/rebuildproftdconf only generates any missing vhosts which can be appended to proftpd.conf

I'm tested with version 1.3.4 and found this still to be the case (it continues on ok)
