proftpd vs pureftpd

I would like to know the PRO’s and CON’S with ProFTP and PureFTP.

Also in addition of a above, I care less on the on the quotas but more interested in the features, security and stability with ProFTP and PureFTP.

I would like to know every ones input with ProFTP and PureFTP on cPanel. Please be nice here I just want to know input and that is all.

Hello :)

We do have the advantages, disadvantages, and some notes listed for both applications at:

"WHM >> Service Configuration >> FTP Server Selection"

Thank you.

Yes, I see this it would be nice to hear from other members that have used both ProFTP and PureFTP.

proftpd has a large memory footprint as has been noted in the advantages / disadvantages area.

The only option I'm aware that it has that pure-ftpd does not is that you can configure the proftpd configuration to allow root user to log into FTP with root username and password (this differs from logging into FTP as a user with the root password, which both support). If you permit that, though, it would be considered a security issue.

Some users insist on wanting to have that ability for their machine, so that's the only time I've ever advised to use proftpd to a user over pure-ftpd.
