ProFtpd change ?? or Microsoft FTP change ??

Update: I did some further investigation and found that my Mac OS X FTP client is still able to ls -l on ProFtpd and it works as expected. My (ahem) Microsoft Windows XP Pro FTP client does not work correctly.

Microsoft is sending the NLST -l command under the covers which apparently does not return file sizes

Mac OS X (Panther) is sending the LIST -l command under the covers which works as expected.

My original question (slightly modified) remains.... How do I make Windows FTP work like it used to?

    (previous information follows)

I updated my server in the last two days and one of my users pointed out a change in ftp.

the ftp command ls -l used to return the files sizes along with the names.

I notice that the proftpd rpm installed is: proftpd-1.2.10tls-5_linuxprivs_newinit

How do I give my user the ability to see file sizes along with the filenames ?
