    My proftpd.conf file consist only of these lines:

    -------------------------
    DisplayConnect
    /etc/issue.net
    /etc/issue.net
    /etc/issue.net

    DefaultRoot ~ !wheel

    ---------------------------

    I can't overwrite files with a ftp client.

    There are several other proftpd.conf files in /etc/
    like
    proftpd.conf, v
    proftpd.conf-
    proftpd.conf.bytes
    proftpd.conf.prev

    I have tried to apply
    <Global>
    AllowOverwite on
    </Global>

    But this doesn't seem to effect.
    I also would like to change idle times and dns look up.

    Is my conf file corrupted or does the conf file moved everywhere else?
    In etc/sysconfig/ there is not a proftpd.conf. file.

    Thank you all for your great help!

    I have managed to creat a new conf file by switching to pureftp and than back to proftpd.

    Now my proftpd.conf file is as it is supposed to be.

    But i still can't overwrite files.
    There is a line line:
    <Directory />
    AllowOverwrite on
    </Directory>

    but this doesn't seem to effect.

    Yeah man, I can really count on you :(

    I've solved the problem.

    After reinstalling proftpd 1.29 the prob. is solved.
    On a test account I wasn't allowed to overwrite because of ownership problems.

    With a new account everything seems to work how it supposed to work.

    So much replays. Thank you thank you :confused:
