hi there

at the moment we are using proftpd with ip-based accounts. now we\'ll have to switch to name-based accounts. we want to import the files from proftpd. do we have to make any changes at the files or will it also work if there are still entries of the ip-addresses?

thanks a lot.

Well, FTP doesn\'t function like HTTP does with full virtual hosts on a single IP. All of your domains that are bound to the same IP will authenticate from the same AuthUserFile ..... within /etc/proftpd.conf, that is usually the first instance of a user file mentioned, at the top of the config...

You can\'t really \"import\", you just have to trust your machine and let your customers know they have to login with the [email protected] scheme instead of the usernames that they might have been using previously.

Fun!
