Hello!

I have been trying to get this to work for the last few days.

Cpanel user set up on a dedicated IP on our server, I switched to proftpd and made sure a virtual host was set up for that user in /etc/proftpd.conf but it still requires the user to enter the @domain in their username?

I have a feeling that this is something to do with the account having multiple domains, but I have tried specifying the domain for the virtualhost in proftpd but no luck. Browsing to the IP address in a browser also doesn't work. I have changed the primary domain to the desired domain though.

I know its a hard thing to start on, but does anyone have any ideas?

I have read these posts and tried what they said but no luck:

Thanks,
Kyle

Just in case some poor soul comes across this at a later date.

My hunch was right, make sure the @domain you want to get rid of is the primary/default domain for that cpanel account and then toggle between ProFTPD and back to Pure-FTPD and it worked for me!

I am happy that it ended up working with Pure-FTP anyway

I'm glad to see you were able to get this to work for you though from the documentation here: FTP Accounts | cPanel & WHM Documentation as well as from the information relevant to assigning a dedicated IP address when you assign a dedicated IP to an account the primary domain should be what is resolved, without making any modifications. If this didn't happen I would suggest you contact you open a ticket to have this investigated further by our analysts.
