I read some old posts about this. But none really had a solid answer.

Some of my clients are complaining that the FTP timeouts too quickly. I logged into FTP and then let it sit and it times out after 300 seconds. But I have checked my proftpd.conf and it says the Timeout is set to 900 seconds. I've restarted and updated proftpd with no luck.

Is there any way around the 300 second timeout?

I'm running FreeBSD 4.9 latest security branch.

    Thanks!

found these over on the proftpd website

    TimeoutLogin 120
    TimeoutIdle 600
    TimeoutNoTransfer 900
    TimeoutStalled 3600

    adjust as needed.

actually my solution was to move these values into the virtualhost of the site i was using. after i did that the timeouts started working per virtualhost. would be nice if cpanel would support adding of timeouts to specific virtualhosts.
