Hi, newbie here, I'm wondering if I should password-protect my "mail" folder. My web hosting service says it's already protected, but then why is there an option to protect it? Any help is appreciated! :)

It should be located outside your public_html directory, thats safe from public viewing. But I do believe a new option was added to allow sub domains/addon domains outside public_html now.

Not messed with that myself yet, but I'm assuming you can now passprotect folders outside public_html for that reason.
