I'm trying to figure out how to stop the emails about:

I had to change the FTP server from Pure-ftpd to ProFTPD because a client was having issues listing a large image directory with Pure-FTPD. Changing the FTP server over to ProFTPD fixed the problem, however I am now getting this email every 5 minutes or so

Alert: pure-ftpd was detected down so I am attempting to restart but was NOT successful

Any ideas on how to stop that email...or even better yet how to configure Pure FTP to allow this client to list all the contents of the image directory?

    Thanks

You need to raise the LimitRecursion value in /etc/pure-ftpd.conf

Find the value (I believe this is the default):

    LimitRecursion 2000 8

    Change this to something like:

    LimitRecursion 5000 8

or whatever value you would like. Save the file and restart pure-ftpd.

Your client must have more than 2000 files in that directory. You want to raise this value in order to list more files.

    That seemed to work...

    Thanks
