    Does anybody know where the languages for pure-ftp are stored? The website (pureftpd.org) says they are in the src directory, but I cannot find that directory. I would like to translate the messages...

    I was told by cPanel support that they can't help me. All I want to know is where the message files for pure-ftp are stored! Any non-cpanel support members out there know?

    Download the package from the pure-ftpd website, open it with winrar or tar and check the src dir.

    Thanks for your help. Actually, I know where the messages are if I download them, but where are they on a cPanel server? They have to be there somewhere, right?

    I hardly doubt it, since i believe pure-ftpd doesnt come in its source, but rather its a package that gets installed. Basically there is no source to compile, so i dont think the source is even present.

    Really? That sucks. Oh well. I guess that's an excuse not to have to translate the messages. Thanks!

    I will be searching and let you know, I'm sure you'll beable to change the messages as Pure-FTPD needs to know where to look for the messages and know what to say when it logins.

    * Initial banner.

    -> How do I display a customized message before the login prompt?

    Compile with --with-cookie and run the server with -F <file name> . In that
    file, put a nice customized banner message.

    Compile what? You do know that cpanel does not include the source files, right?
