I rebooted my server for the first time in a long time and found pure-ftpd is operating differently since then. I used to be able to login with just a simple username, now it only works with username@somedomain.com. I checked the password file and there no longer exists the simple usernames, they have all been transformed into a username@somedomain.com. I tried the sync passwords function and nothing happened. I ran a ftpup pure-ftpd --force and no change.

Any idea how to get it back to how it used to work?????

Please report the version of Pure-FTPd:

    rpm -q pure-ftpd

After reporting that version, we recommend updating to the latest version of Release by running:

    /scripts/upcp

Let us know if that does not resolve your issue.

Then you should be using cPanel 11, not WHM 10.8.0 cPanel 10.9.0-R79
