Does CPanel use a custom build of PureFTPd?

Why I am asking is that it seems that CPanel refuses to upgrade to PureFTPd version 1.0.18. It keeps wanting to install PureFTPd version 1.0.12.

I have checked the HTTP download site that CPanel downloads PureFTPd from and all they have listed is version 1.0.12.

Is there a way to manually update PureFTPd from version 1.0.12 to version 1.0.18 without breaking the connections between it and CPanel/WHM? If so, how would you do so?

    Greetings,

I have. I studied how the Cpanel's version made theirs and then I made my own RPM package using Pure-FTPd 1.0.17 and used it since for all servers offering TLS support along with standard fare. Never had any problems.

Could you kindly make one for 1.0.18 and link us to it?

    Greetings,

Sure..I plan on it later. Just kinda of busy, but I will produce it for Redhat 7.3, 9.0 and Redhat Enterprise 3 to be available.

Also..you might want to update the fileutils for 7.3 distros which I produced to fix the csh bug with colorls. I will put that up for use as well plus few others I have made.
