    Hi,

I have searched the forum but have found no way to actually change the PureFTPd Welcome Message. It currently shows :-
    220---------- Welcome to Pure-FTPd [TLS] ----------
220-You are user number 1 of 50 allowed.
220-Local time is now 08:35. Server port: 21.
220 You will be disconnected after 15 minutes of inactivity.
331 User subsonic OK. Password required
230-User subsonic has group access to: subsonic
230 OK. Current restricted directory is /

    Your assistance would be appriciated.

    Yours,
    Craig Brass

If the file you can't find is the .banner file, the reason you may not be able to find it could be related to the statement:

I take the "If" as meaning that the .banner file may not exist. My assumption is that if it doesn't exist the standard Pure-FTP message will display, as it seems to be doing for you.

Try creating a file called .banner in the root of the relevant VirtualHost and, for testing purposes, put a small amount of content in the file and check that it is displayed when ftping. Just a guess.

Sounds about right. One of the problems with pure-ftpd is that a lot is compiled in when it is built, compared to proftpd which is infinitely more configurable.
