I've been working with cPanel for awhile and I've never had a problem.

I just upgraded my VPS from Centos 5.8 i686 to Centos 6.3 x86_64.

Basically everything works great, but I've noticed one thing which I'm trying to resolve.

    1. I do a clean install of Centos 6
    2. Run the yum update
    3. Install cPanel
    4. Run cPanel update to latest in cPanel
    5. Upgrade to MySQL 5.5
    6. Re-run cPanel update to latest

My issue is that when I'm in phpmyadmin the database client version isn't showing up as the same version as the server version. It's libmysql 4.1 (point something - don't have it open at the moment)

The only way I can get this to be the same version as the server version is by running: /scripts/makecpphp

I didn't have this problem under Centos 5.8 i686. Looking at that VPS, in phpmyadmin everything matches.
