Question to those with helpdesk staff

    Quick question and hopefully this turns into a good discussion. What are the best methods other hosts have found to manage additional staff members?

    Our team is about to grow, and I would not like to give the additional team members root access to each server. There are currently 3 of us with root access who can be trusted 100%.

    1. How do you manage team members, do they have helpdesk logins only and respond to questions that do not need to be looked into?

    2. Super user accounts on the server to perform common tasks and problem hunting?

    grant them access to commands of your choice using sudo.

    Sudo (superuser do) allows a system administrator to give certain users (or groups of users) the ability to run some (or all) commands as root or another user while logging the commands and arguments. Support Ticket Number:
