It is only a problem when you are using Cpanel and the user interface looks like Plesk.

Thats what it should look like unless you have something like RVSKIN installed.

I have a similiar problem. I have a WindowsXP machine and the damn thing looks just like Windows XP. I have tried installing Linux on another machine and it's fine thank God!!! But my Windows XP machine still looks just like Windows XP. What should I do guys? I bashed the monitor with a hammer and the problem seemd to go away ..but when moved to another monitor I get the same same look 'Windows XP" ..help!!!!!!!!!!!!

P.S. I figured it out guys. I needed to leave the old monitor hooked up. Besides I like having the hammer handle hanging out. It makes a good hanger for my red hat.

Ok folks, settle down. I know from our point of view it looks like a silly question, but I'm sure their was a meaning to it.

After thinking about it for a minute I think I know what the person is wondering, but I may be wrong.

    I think the question is:

I have a website that is using cpanel and it looks exactly like the sample here. Is it a problem that I got it from someone else and not from cpanel?

If that's what you mean, then no, there is no problem. Cpanel is not used strictly by cpanel.net. Hosting providers pay for use of it and the end users, like you, pay them for the right to use it.

If that's not what you mean, please try to give more detail.

I thought they were saying that they 'skinned' their website to look like a cPanel skin (x skin perhaps).

You have to admit there is some humor in saying that your cpanel skin looks like a cpanel skin and then asking if that is a problem. :)

I actually thought that at first also, but since it made no sense I thought about it for a bit to try to figure out the real question.

It's hard to get the right concept because it's so basic to us, but I found out one day that assuming what's basic to you is not necessarily basic to others.

    Example:
Give someone a roll of film and a camera and they ask, "what do I do with these?", and most people would laugh. What if the person has never seen or heard of a camera before?

I didn't mean the "settle down" part in any nasty way, just, rather than everyone laughing at the question, why not try to answer it.

I just hope that you can describe your problem a little better so that we can help you out.

I think he assumed that the Cpanel x skin comes as a separate product that you have to buy from Cpanel. No aolex, Cpanel comes with your Cpanel license.

    I think he's saying:

I'm running some form of control panel that is not cpanel, but they've ripped off cpanel's interface. Do you guys want to get on the case?

    That's a good possibility.

If there is trouble, it will find me
That would be my guess. If that's the case, send an e-mail to billing@cpanel.net (I think that's the right address).

Aolex, come in here and explain.
Don't keep us 'help junkies' guessing.
If you don't speak English, just post a msg in your language. I will get my translators to help me out, I'm sure they are willing to help.
