Does it only e-mail you if something goes wrong or does it e-mail you every time the job is executed?

it didn't e-mail me either way once, I got an e-mail at midnight saying it was the wrong syntax so I fixed it and changed it to 7am but it didn't e-mail me for that one

generally cron will only usually email you if it encounters a problem running the requested command or if the script or whatever produces some output (since it doesn't know weather thats a good or bad sign)
