Quota questions and problems

Hi,

We would like to know what is the exact function of 'use safe quotas'. We know that it enables and disables quota when deleting an account.

If it is not enabled, can it lead to quota corruption? In one server we are seeing that the user's disk usage is not unlimited or zero, but very low in relation with the real usage. When you run quotacheck it works fine again. But the question is, has to be enabled 'Use safe quotas' ?

The option in WHM > Tweak Settings under System area for "Use Safe Quotas" is the default option now. When this is enabled (set to "On"), it will not turn off quotas before updating them. When this option is disabled (set to "Off"), quotas are turned off before modifying them and then turned back on.

You do not need to enable "Use Safe Quotas" on a system if you are having issues with that set option. Specifically, systems with software RAID are advised against enabling the option.
