When I have downloaded the raw access logs from within cpanel, I am unable to open them

If I try to unzip them with winzip I get the error "winzip is unable to open this archive, download it again etc...".

Any ideas whats gone wrong and how to fix it?

    Running 8.8.0-RELEASE 10 on RH9

    Thanks.

I've had something similar happen to the MySQL backups... Try opening the file in a text editor/spooling the first few lines - do you get (uncompressed) lines such as "GET /...." for the first few lines and then the compressed data?

    Thats's exactly what I get.
The first line of the file is humanly readable (and is me accessing cpanel to download the log) then the rest is compressed data.
    This only started recently.
Any suggestions anyone, because some people I host need access to these logs on a daily basis.

I have the same problems with logs, no one is able to uncompress them.

Cpanel team, please look at the issue ASAP.

Since upgrading to 8.9.0 r_33 this problem seems to be fixed :)
