    Hi,

I would like to setup a rDNS for my domain on my WHM. I have no idea how to do this. Is there a step by step guide that would help me out.

    My details are as follows:
    Domain: smartdigitalmedia.com
    ns1.smartdigitalmedia.com 205.209.147.30
    ns2.smartdigitalmedia.com 205.209.147.30

    Any help would be appresiated,

PS. The chats I have bought the server space from wont help (don't know how, they are newbies too)

    Justin

    Go on, have a guess
Unless your datacenter has delegated responsibility for the IP address to you (highly unlikely) they are the only ones that can setup the rDNS PTR records for the IP addresses that your server uses.

A simply way to tell is to do:

    dig -x 11.22.33.44

Where 11.22.33.44 is the IP address you want rDNS setup for. If it comes back with only an SOA with your DNS servers listed, then you have delegation, otherwise there is nothing at all you can do and only the IP owner can setup the rDNS entries in their name servers.
