Re change ip in shell

    Hey my server and main ip is 203.84.233.20

    how do i change that in shell to be 203.84.233.23

    for the main

    can you give me the commands

    Usually you're going to need to change it in (on Linux):

    /etc/hosts
    /etc/resolv.conf (possibly)
    /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0 (or whichever is your main NIC)


    You then need to restart the network, which is best done from the console with:

    /etc/init.d/network restart

    Depending on how you've been using it, you'll then probably have to modify IP usage in WHM and restart any IP bound daemons, such as named.
