I hope some one on board can assist me with this issue ?

I installed Outlook on my new machine and transfered the emails that I had downloaded already. I have Outlook set to leave a copy on the server but now that I have reconfigured Outlook with my email account, it starts to download all the emails again.

    How can I prevent this?

    Thank you

Not sure how helpful this is: In Outlook 2007 where you change/edit your account settings click the More Settings button. On the popup click the Advanced Tab. At bottom select the option "Leave a copy of messages on...."

    Inforpro :-

That option will keep copies of the mail on the server, but my case is different,

I already have those copies on the mail server and i also have them on my restored HDD, since i had to restore my mail client i have imported the mails that i had saved on my HDD to Outlook 2007 [ fresh install ]

And now when i configure my mail client with all the mail ids thati use, it re downloads all those thousands of mails, which i dont want to from the mail server, I just need to download only the new mails that come in.

I hope my situation is much clear now :(

    Thank you
