Re new install [merged]

    Re new install

    I have a server has freebsd on it

    i am in shell trying to install cpanel

    Make sure you are logged in as root.

    # cd /home

    # wget http://layer1.cpanel.net/latest

    Note: For FreeBSD, you need to download and untar the latest installer package from http://www.cpanel.net/.

    # sh latest


    and its not working saying no wget

    any help at all will be good

    you need to use fetch on a freedsb and follow the istructions for freedsb

    If you can help please give me commands how to install things maake it work as i not good with shell

    in shell if i go to like

    /home
    /boot

    i get permission Denied

    dont quote me on this as I do not run freeDSB maybe someone who does can correct me if I am wrong :)

    First see if wget is installed... If not you need to install it from ports... That is not difficult ...
    After that the cpanel install will be easy... Get to me on IM if you are not able to do it and need help..

    What version of FREEBSD are you using?

    Make sure your ports are up to date

    cd /usr/ports
    make fetchindex

    Then try installing cpanel again.

    That means that the file you want to download doesnt excist. (I'm not FreeBSD man, but even I can understand that ;)) Also make sure you're logged in as root, otherwise this is not going to work.
