    Hi,

I want to setup a subdomain for a client and then re-point it to their directory. So for example I have myhost.com and he will be moving over a domain later so he has is own directory in /home/client/ I want to setup a subdomain like client.myhost.com that points to /home/client/www/

I know I can manually edit the httpd.conf file to do this, but how can I do it through cpanel so that it does not get overwritten next time I add a new newdomain or something.

Basically how can I do custom edits in httpd.conf to client virtual host blocks :)

    Cheers,
    TR

Cpanel is not providing any way to edit httpd.conf manually. If you fear that any edit in httpd.conf fill overwrite your modification, better way to get ride of it is to use Include files. means, you setup or add your custom virtual host in a seperate file and include that file in httpd.conf. Please take care and avoid situation of having multiple entries.
