How do I rearrange the default order of icons in each section of the cPanel interface? For example if I wanted the email section of cPanel to have 'Default Address', 'Email Accounts', 'Forwarders', and 'Auto Responders' as the first four icons by default how would I set that up?

Thanks

I don't see why not. Maybe there isn't an easy way within WHM such as the live branding, but whatever the code is that generate the end user's cPanel UI should be able to be modified. Just to be clear, I am NOT talking about the end user being able to drag the sections/icons to whatever order they want. I want the default to be modified. The canned standard sort order of the icons are highly illogical. The email section alone is absurdly sorted.

The icon order is determined by the contents of /usr/local/cpanel/base/frontend/x3/dynamicui.conf. There are some rudimentary comments within the file, to group the sections. Modifying the itemorder= entry on a line changes where the icon appears within the group. Modifying the grouporder= entry on a line changes order of the groups (or sections)

When modifying this file please keep the following in mind:

1. This file, if modified, will be replaced during updates.
2. You may need to search your system for other copies of dynamicui.conf if your itemorder is not being observed
3. There's no telling what could happen upon modifying this file. You could have all users everywhere singing your praises for improved icon ordering, or puppies and kittens everywhere could be forever sad.

You're welcome.

#3 is factual with practically any change to a software product. So says my QA days :)
