recommend me apache settings

    hello these are my server specs , i am repeatedly getting complaints from customers that they see timeout error,please recommend me apache + mpm prefork settings:-


    CPU Athlon II X4 635 (4 x 2.9Mhz)
    Memory 8 GByte DDR2 800
    Harddisk 2 x 1 TByte SATA II
    port :- 100mbit
    latest current version of cpanel / whm

    It's very difficult to give you specific recommendations based on the information provided. Generally, however, I would say to play with the following values:

    KeepAlive
    KeepAliveTimeout


    You could possibly benefit from enabling KeepAlive and increasing the timeout if your user's sites load many items per page.

    Of course, also make sure your TimeOut directive is set to sane value.

    Other general speed-improving recommendations apply as well: PHP cache (eAccelerator/Xcache), FGCI, etc. as well to improve PHP loading times.

    thanks for reply , i have already enabled mpm prefork with keep alive timeout of 2 seconds, i have heard mpm worker is good for php scripts, but enabling it just makes server out of control with load varying upto 100+ :(,any suggestions ?
