Does the version of Curl matter?

I tried this and I saw no option to check Curl.

    Any thoughts?

I have to Compile OpenSSL and Curl too...

I've noticed that my cpanel Software >>> Update Apache window lists Curl Version (7.10.5) and a day or two ago, I downloaded and installed Curl Version (7.11.1)

Will that cause a problem or can I still Update Apache with those switches in WHM?

Also, do I need to download, upload, and install Mcrypt as well before doing the Apache update.
