    Hi everyone,

I hope this is the right area to post in; please let me know if it is better suited to somewhere else.

I'd like to recompile PHP on my server (shared with a friend), and add support for PostgreSQL (--with-pgsql option).
I know Cpanel doesn't like recompiling PHP, Apache etc so I thought I should post here for some advice first.
Is it possible to reliably recompile php/apache, and am I (a relative linux newbie compared to most of you guys) going to be capable?

    Thanks in advance! :)

first question for you, is php statically compiled into apache, or is it running as a DSO module?

If it\'s a DSO, then a recompile of apache should be quite easy.

Let us know, and we\'ll give you some pointers.

    regards,

    Simon

I also would like to recompile PHP for --with-pgsql support. How do I find out if mine is DSO or not?
