    Hello I am new to the whole WHM system. Can someone give me a brief description of what each of these selections do in the \'Edit A DNS Zone\' in WHM.

    A6
    AAA
    CNAME
    MX
    NS
    PTR
    TXT
    WRK

    If you want a brief intro to some of the various items in a resource record, go to http://www.cisco.com/public/sw-center/sw_download_guide/dnsfaq.html (scroll down to resource record, about a third of the way down the page).

    In very (very!) general terms, most people only care about A, CNAME, MX, and NS, which would cover the address (map the name to an IP - A), canonical name (map an alias to a real name - CNAME), the mail exchange (how to route the mail - MX), and nameservers (who is authoritative for the domain - NS).
