Red Hat will discontinue maintenance and
errata support for Red Hat Linux 7.1, 7.2, 7.3 and 8.0 as of December 31, 2003. Red Hat will discontinue maintenance and errata support for Red Hat Linux 9 as of April 30, 2004. Red Hat does not plan to release another product in the Red Hat Linux line.

Red Hat will only support Red Hat Enterprise Linux
    ..

What will be the steps to move to Red Hat Enterprise Linux for cpanel/whm clients having red hat 7.x to 9.x ?
Which version of Red Hat Enterprise Linux we will need to install , AS, ES or WS ?

and look the prices ... :(

is it time to move to freebsd ?!?

    Thank you!

They've also got a free version that will no longer be called RedHat. What does cPanel suggest? Will development be focusing on the new open source version of RH or should we all move to freebsd?

    from faq migration ..

Use of Red Hat Enterprise Linux requires a full os reinstall (!!!!!) from Red Hat Linux. There are a full set of migration whitepapers and best practices available for download at the Red Hat Linux Migration Resource Center.

    https://rhn.redhat.com/help/rhlmigrationfaq/ (point 8)

If a full reinstall will be required , with all the work required (backup , downtime ...) , perhpas it's better to consider another OS . Such as isputra wrote above perhaps an upgrade to Fedora could be possible ( http://fedora.redhat.com/ )

    http://www.fedora.us/
    * Red Hat Linux Project is merging with the Fedora Linux Project,
and the resulting combined project will be named the Fedora Project.

    * During the next few months, Fedora and Red Hat will work toward
integrating our packages, infrastructure, policies, and procedures with
the goal of creating a much larger community based Linux distribution
project. Until this new infrastructure is ready, Fedora will continue to
publish packages using the old infrastructure at fedora.us, while the
new project infrastructure, policies and documentation will be formed at
    fedora.redhat.com.

    * This merger necessitates the removal of certain problematic packages
    due to licensing issues.

    * There is a lot of work to be done, so please join us in
#fedora at irc.freenode.net and subscribe to the Fedora
    mailing lists at fedora.redhat.com.
