I'm a newbie at this, but I just wanted to know which of the 2 would be better for web hosting servers and why.
    Thanks

If you're comparing RedHat Enterprise with CentOS, they're essentially the same OS. CentOS removes any proprietary code from the RHE distribution and doesn't offer license support which you get with RHE. If you want to pay the license fee and have OS support from the vendor, go for RHE, otherwise CentOS is fine.

The only negatives about centos being the fact that there is very little support, and they release their updates later than redhat because they have to remove all 'RedHat' trademarks from them.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I just wanted to know which would be better, I was looking into taking the RHE certification courses. I just want to make sure I can maintain my servers properly. Do you guys recommend any sites to read up on maintaining servers?

    Thanks
