    Hello,

After the news of the EOL of Red Hat 7.3 (which all our servers currently run) we have been looking around at the possibility of a complete upgrade, but we do have a few worries and questions about this....

What would be considered a worth while update - we have been in talks with the datacentre and they suggest either RH9 or FreeBSD - surely RH9 will eventually have an EOL - even if it has only recently been released!?

How do the operating systems bear up on FreeBSD - i know on RH7.3 we have never had a single problem (but that is also due to our great server administrator)

How easy would it be to backup and re-instate accounts after the upgrade / fresh install of a new os has been completed - all account will be backed up on our backup server & locally during the process.

I look forward to any comments / suggestions.

    Regards

    Simon - Fashion Hosting.
