What are we going to do?
Anyone else in this situation of no support?
Progney or fedora are probably your best bet. I am personally moving away from rh9/fedora and going with RHEL which requires a seperate license. Of course there are many other distros out there that are good choices.
No one else on RH9?
We are looking at White Box Enterprise Linux.
Nice. I wonder if cpanel is considering support for this...
This Network Center is already offering WBEL on its new boxes complete with cPanel/WHM.
I wonder if they know something we don't re. cPanel support.
That's interesting. Cpanel support told me:
Special notice about cPanel for RedHat: cPanel will continue to support the current versions of RedHat Linux as long as Fedora-Legacy continues to release quality updates.
I just noticed this on the WBEL homepage:
So perhaps you just run the RHEL version of cpanel and that's that...?
It has been speculated that this would work.
I've yet to test it but, since Whitebox Linux is based off of RHEL code, I assume its true.
In a few months I may give it a try on my next server.
