    Hello,

Just installed redhat 9 and probs still remain for me:

exim not running on one server (exim - packageeximisnotinstalled)

Incorrectly built binary which accesses errno, h_errno or _res directly. Needs to be fixed.

    Php/Perl won't install correctly

    -

I just wanted to start a fresh thread to see if there was any progress.

I ran /easyapache option six and un-checked downgrade php. (still didn't work php will not work)

tried to run /exim4 (no luck, It's like exim is not even there)

Running tests on "accesses errno, h_errno or _res" (nothing yet)

    /scripts/exim4

should take care of exim not starting. As far as the errno, res etc.. its a bug in glibc binary compat. redhat has an open bug but it doesn't look like they are going to do anything about it so we will work around it soon if they don't

Downgrade your Glibc Version to 2.3.2-4.80.6
This helped for us no more errors on Exim or anywhere.

Interesting stuff, i think the bottom line is Redhat 9 is a just sensitive.

I rolled it out on three servers for some tests and 1 installed almost perfect other then the bug above.

While the other two never could get exim, perl, or php.

Still I will play around with it since I think 9.0 will be the main stream server application. (just a thought)

Hope we can nail it down soon.

    /scripts/updatenow
    /scripts/exim4

This should NOW fix exim even with the redhat installed glibc
