I have a client who wants to redirect his website to another server but not the mail. Is this even possible with the mail records pointing to the domain?

    Hi,

If dns are running from your server then you simply need to change A record of the website in dns zone file of that website. Your mx and A records should be as below:

    domain.com. A XX.XX.XX.XX (New server IP)
    domain.com. MX 0 mail.domain.com.
    mail.domain.com. A xx.xx.xx.xx (Your server IP)

    Thanks

    Hello :)

Yes, as mentioned, you can update the "A" record for "mail" in your DNS zone to the IP address of the cPanel server to ensure email is still handled through your cPanel server.

    Thank you.
