Hi, a client who currently hosts their website and mail on our server wishes to redirect to another server for their website whilst retaining their mail on our server. Can this be done with the domain nameservers pointing to our server, i.e. is it just a case of redirecting the A record for the domain to another server in the DNS settings?

Yes, that is correct. Just change the A records to point to the desired IP address.

Remember, though, that MX records point to A records, so make sure to make the MX records point to an A record that still points to your IP address. You may need to make a new A record in the zone for this purpose.

Alternatively, you can just use the Redirects function in cPanel:

Redirects

The disadvantage of that, though, is that traffic for the site will still come to your server and the server will have to answer that traffic with the redirect.
