If I want to redirect dmian ABC.COM to XYZ.COM and I have added the CNAME entry at ABC.COM as :

    www.ABC.COM. 600 IN CNAME www.XYZ.COM

then is it necessory to make changes at the DNS zone for XYZ.COM?

    Please assist me with this.

If you have two domains at your registrar and they both have the correct nameservers pointing to your server, why not just go to xyz.com's cPanel and 'park' or 'addon' abc.com to it? The option is built in and easy to do.
