Redirecting Loop Problem

Hi,

I am sorry but I am a total newbie. Anyway, I am trying to redirect my URL:

mydomain.com
to
mydomain.com/mypodcast

I used the cpanel redirecting tool and now I get an error from firefox:

"Problem loading page
Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete."

I tried looking up this problem and keep stumbling upon .htaccess, I don't know what that is.

I really would appreciate any help I can get, I just want people to go straight to my wordpress site and not the root domain. I hope this makes any sense.

ok so I figured out what .thaccess is and located it, now I just need to know what code to copy in there.

I was able to redirect from The Fearless Knitter » A Knitting and Spinning Webseries to The Fearless Knitter » A Knitting and Spinning Webseries
However, now I can't log in to wp-admin, it takes me to the login screen and when I type my password in it takes me back to the login like I never typed in my password.

Any help?

empty your browser cookies and cache then re-visit your site to page wp-admin and try again and it should log you in without any problems since some times cookies and cache can make it re-load and you end back to login page.
