Redirection confusion

Hi, not only am i new to cPanel, I'm new to web design full stop. Please assume I'm less knowledgeable than a rock.

I have a domain :ropeman.com, when I enter :www.ropeman.com in the browser, it redirects to :ropeman.com/holder.htm which is a 'page under construction' type page I made, not :ropeman.com/index.htm which I'd like it to.

I place all files in www, rather than public_html, if that's an issue and I have no active redirects.

It's really irritating

Note that www is just a symlink to the directory public_html.

Thanks Matthew. I've since moved all the relevant files into public_html.
