refused: too many connections. exim error

    Hello All,

    The exim log /varlog/exim_mainlog shows the following error. Please help.

    root@serveroiloi [/var/spool/exim/input]# tail -f /var/log/exim_mainlog
    2005-07-19 00:14:19 Connection from [65.545.33.2] refused: too many connections
    2005-07-19 00:14:19 Connection from [193.344.184.68] refused: too many connections
    2005-07-19 00:14:19 Connection from [193.133.184.68] refused: too many connections
    2005-07-19 00:14:19 Connection from [216.22.232.198] refused: too many connections
    2005-07-19 00:14:20 Connection from [216.23.94.75] refused: too many connections
    2005-07-19 00:14:20 Connection from [12.232.230.133] refused: too many connections
    2005-07-19 00:14:20 Connection from [208.232.96.194] refused: too many connections
    2005-07-19 00:14:20 Connection from [206.237.102.249] refused: too many connections

    You're either being mail bombed, or you've added some ACL's into the exim configuration that use the delay function - which is a very bad idea for this very reason. A simply step would be to run:

    cd /etc
    mv exim.conf.local exim.conf.local.old
    /scripts/buildeximconf
    service exim restart
